MY FIRST DAY AT CNU (01/21/2008)
HOMEWORK # 1




This semester I don’t have an opportunity to sign up for more than one class. This class is “Religion in the movies.” But it is full! I have to wait for my professor to permit me to get in.
This class starts at 7:00PM, but I like to come early. I parked the car and then looked at my watch. This was 3:00PM exactly. I went around some classrooms where I took classes before. There were different students, and my former professors were not there either. I missed all the people last semester. I went to library. It took me by big surprise. The building with big columns in front makes me feel that it was a big cathedral. I walked inside and took a tour. The first floor was remodeled. It is very big place and clean. The big change was the second floor. In the middle of the building, there is a big staircase. I walked up to second floor and the balcony around that. The new furniture is very nice. Overall, the inside of the building was fantastic.
I met many of my friends who were my classmates. I spoke to them and exchanged the news we had. Surprise, I saw my friend from my job, where I was retired. They came to study computers. They said they learn from me: “Stop learning, start dying.” I was very happy. It is 6:30 PM, the time to walk to my classroom, but nobody there yet. I waited outside until I saw several students come, and then I walked in. The students saw me and they feel I did some thing wrong. They looked at me. I started the question: “Is this the class of ‘Religion in the movies’?” They answered: “yes”. I sat down and waited. Then I counted total 24 students including me. Then Dr. Reddick came. Then I stood and walked up. But Dr. Redick was very smart. He knew what I need. He said: “Wait until the end of class.”After that the whole class watched the film "Groundhog Day." That was the funny film I have seldom seen.
Finally, Dr. Redick signed the paper to let me in the class. Then I was ready to go home. The weather was very cold and my body was shaking. I got into my car and turned the heat on and drove home. This was a very good day in January 21, 2008, but it was very cold.
