Rachel Conley - Pink Floyd the Wall
What I noticed the most about this movie was the wall, which makes sense because that is the title of it, which surrounds the character. My first thought was that it reminded me of the Berlin Wall. That made more sense after I realized that it was a metaphor for isolationism. Just as Pink feels isolated from everyone and everything around him, the Berlin Wall separated East from West Germany. It is a perfect metaphor to use. In the end of the movie Pink is able to tear down the wall that is isolating him from others and conquer his problems. In 1989 the Berlin Wall fell and the two Germanies were able to reunite and begin the healing process. I didn't always understand everything that happened in the movie, but I enjoyed it and I really did like the wall metaphor.
