The movie Twenty-One had a strong theme of sin and corruption. The cinematography in the movie was incredible. When they would arrive in Las Vegas, it would almost always show the city at night with bright lights everywhere and a very enticing and what many would say is an appealing atmosphere. But when the weekend was over they would show a view of the city of Boston as they got back and it was always a cloudy or rainy day. It also never showed Boston at night, which would have showed all the lights from the city. I think the movie was trying to show how the MIT students and their professor felt about their lives. They liked the life of greed and what most would call making dishonest money. In Proverbs it says that dishonest money dwindles away. IT is interesting that the main character’s money dwindles away. They were living a second life that was destroying their real life. They even said, when they are in Las Vegas they can be whom ever they want to be. They were being anyone but themselves. The greed and corruption was destroying relationships with friends in their real lives back in Boston. It illustrated to me how sin can satisfy pleasure in the moment but can often lead to destruction of ones life.
