Ben Ash - Random Blog - New Tattoo

Last weekend I was finally able to get my 10th tattoo, which was my first in a little over a year. What was so special about this tattoo, however, was the meaning behind it. The tattoo itself reads “Leviticus 19:28” which, to anyone who has familiarized themselves with the book of laws, is what I refer to as the pinnacle of irony. The verse reads “You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the LORD.” I mainly got this tattoo for two reasons.
First, it is flat out funny. I think anyone that believes I am going to hell for sitting in a chair and being stabbed for a couple hours needs to redefine what it is to be a good person. Secondly, and on a more serious note, I got the tattoo as a beacon to the fact that I will never, even if I did believe in a God, pray to one that judges me so superficially. If tattoos are my ticket to Hell, then I will have plenty of company.
