The Reason for God is written by Dr. Timothy Keller. Recently, I subjected 230 people to a youtube viewing of Dr. Keller's explanation of his book to MIT students. I really enjoyed his professionalism in handling extremely difficult topics and questions. This book addresses issues like the 1) Exclusive Truth Claims of Christianity and Other Religions, 2) Relativism, 3) Injustice, 4) God & Suffering, as well as 5) God & Science and many more topics. I recommend this book to anybody with any belief system. It tackles misconceptions about belief forming faculties through the evolutionary process and shows how many atheists use the scalpel of exclusive truth claims on everybody else except themselves. Not all, but many people in the world would say is narrow to say Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life. The problem with this statement is that it is not narrow it is either a fact or not a fact but its not narrow. Another problem the secular world has with Christian exclusive truth claims is that they say we are elitists for thinking we have "THE TRUTH" and nobody else has it. Many would continue with this thought in saying that all religions are equally wrong and nobody has the truth. Unfortunately, the underlying thought behind this person's statement is that the person criticizing all other religions believes that he or she has the truth or sees the big picture and all others don't. This statement is just as exclusive as the Christians claim to Jesus being the only way or Muslim's belief in Muhammed. Everybody has an exclusive truth claim is what it comes down to. This book does a better job than I could ever do in respectfully addressing these issues at a much higher level than I can even attempt. READ IT!!!
