Jeff Lee - Stranger Than Fiction

Will Ferrell stars as Harold Crick in the movie Stranger than Fiction.  This movie is about an author who is narrating and controlling Harold's life through her writing.  Harold Crick's life is magically connected to Karen Eiffel's book in which she is completing.  Eiffel writes tragedies, which means the hero in the story typically gets a poetic death.  This is not good news for Harold as he is trying to locate Karen and persuade her to let him live.  The movie does not explain how the two are interconnected but it does have an emotional ending.  The fact that we will one day die is a truth that none of us can escape.  The main theme of this film revolves around the idea that fate exists and controls one's end.  I would put a Christian spin on this topic and call it God's sovereign plan for one's life rather than fate.  Sovereignty describes God's control and interaction as planned and perfectly calculating in order to achieve a higher initiative, which is God's glory.
